Volvo Penta’s IPS Joystick with Dynamic Positioning System (DPS 2.0) holds both position and heading at the push of a button, automatically compensating for wind and current. While engaged, the operator can rotate the vessel or move her laterally or fore-and-aft in small increments using the joystick; once the adjustment is made, the system immediately re-establishes and maintains the new position and heading without further input.
